Kenny and The Commotion is the original music project of Florida‑based singer‑songwriter Kenny Goldstone, blending indie alt pop-rock with 80s and 90s‑inspired hooks. What started as a teenager in New Jersey tinkering with recording gear and making rough demos slowly grew into a lifelong habit of chasing songs and better sounds.
Once in Florida, Kenny spent years in cover bands fronting The Grouper Cheeks and performing with Karate in the Garage around the Sarasota region, learning how to read a room, arrange other people’s songs, and keep a crowd locked in. Those nights onstage, plus countless hours experimenting with guitars, keys, and home‑recording setups, laid the groundwork for a shift from interpreting classics to writing his own.
With Kenny and The Commotion, he flips the script and steps fully into original territory. The music leans into melodic, lyric‑driven songs built to feel intimate on headphones and alive with a band—indie alt pop-rock with a touch of rootsy, country‑tinged warmth. The debut album is finished and fully mastered: ten tracks set to roll out as singles through 2026, with the first single “Hesitating” out now and “Into the Blue” arriving Valentine’s weekend.
Onstage, Kenny is joined by a rotating cast of players who bring their own personality and dynamics to the show, turning each performance into a small community moment rather than a solo act with backing musicians.
